Folk On The Water

Ahoy there shipmates!

Is there a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than a leisurely three hour cruise through the Don Gorge on a historical passenger boat whilst listening to some amazing live music?

The Wyre Lady departs from and returns to The Boat Inn in Sprotborough and takes us down the river under the stunning Conisborough Viaduct and also gives us a glimpse of Conisborough Castle.

We have to be honest, it’s not up to superyacht standards (she’s fairly basic with wooden benches), but there’s a bar and toilets on board, an amazing crew, a fantastic sound system and a very chilled atmosphere.

Folk on the Water is normally held on a Sunday, setting sail at 3pm and retuning for 6pm (so arrive before the sail time, as the boat will leave without you).

Parking in the area is limited, but you can park in the pub car park if you’re buying a drink or having a meal (just remember to enter your vehicle reg at the bar to avoid a fine). Alternatively, there is plenty of on-street parking. It gets busy, it’s a local beauty spot!
